In an effort to try and keep classes full we are changing things up a little this year. **Please note that all Beginning Quilting classes require basic sewing skills, due to time constraints, these classes are not for someone who has never sewn. For ADULTS, the schedule will be as follows:

February-Beginning Quilting (heart mini quilt 27 1/2” square) Skills include: Basic piecing and half square triangles. Tuesday, four weeks 6-7:30pm, $60 Begins February 4th.

March-Beginning Sewing Week 1 Learning your machine basics and practice. Week 2 Infinity Scarf. Week 3 simple elastic waist skirt. Week 4 zipper pouch. Tuesday, four weeks 6-7:30pm, $60 Begins March 3rd.

April-Beginning Quilting (umbrella mini quilt 8×10 ”) Skills include: Fusible and raw edge appliqué. Tuesday, four weeks 6-7:30pm, $60 Begins April 7th.

May-Beginning Sewing same as March schedule $60 Begins May 5th.

June-Beginning Quilting (tulip mini quilt 11 x 16”) Skills include: Basic piecing. Tuesday, four weeks 6-7:30pm, $60 Begins June 2nd.

July-Beginning Sewing, same schedule $60. Begins July 7th.

August-Beginning Quilting (star struck mini quilt 13 1/2” square) Skills include: Basic piecing. Tuesday, four weeks 6-7:30pm, $60. Begins August 4th.

September-Beginning Sewing, same schedule $60. Begins September 8th.

Kids Beginning Sewing classes this year will remain on Thursday nights from 6-7:30pm and will run for four weeks at a price of $60 for the four week class. Recommended ages are 7-12 years old. Please note that this is an alternating schedule and every other month is a more advanced class that meets for one night only and requires basic sewing skills. The schedule is as follows:

February-Week 1 hand sewing. Skills include threading a needle, whip stitch, running stitch and sewing on a button.
Week 2 learning your machine and practice. Week 3 small heart project. Skills include fusible and raw edge appliqué. Week 4 cinch bag. Skills include finishing raw edges, pressing with an iron, creating a casing and installing ribbon in casing. $60 Begins February 6th.

March-Weeks 1 & 3 simple elastic waist skirt. Weeks 2 & 4 small doll quilt. MUST have completed basic sewing class before taking these more advanced classes. These are all single night classes and the price will be $20. Begins March 5th.

May-off. No classes this month

Most of our projects produce something you will use in your everyday life! Some of our previous projects in the adult class include pillowcases, keychains, & a purse!

Learning Basic Skills

Making the projects in class not only teaches you how to make that item, but also gives you valuable basic skills for your future sewing adventures!

Community

It’s great to get together with others who share a common interest, and Sewcial Club classes are a great way do that!
